ADF to HHS: Remove harmful procedures from essential health benefits

“Everyone deserves the best possible health care, and overwhelming evidence demonstrates that ‘gender transition’ procedures are experimental and dangerous—particularly for children. ADF supports CMS’s proposal to remove ‘sex-trait modification’ from ‘essential health benefit’ requirements since puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and the removal of otherwise healthy body parts carry neither ‘health’ nor a ‘benefit.’ Medical experts from around the globe agree that no evidence of positive outcomes from these procedures exists. Americans deserve better, and we encourage CMS and HHS to promote holistic care for those struggling to find comfort with their sex.”
