This is a key case that could affirm the right of religious schools like St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School to participate in certain state charter school programs, like everyone else. After fulfilling all the requirements to qualify for Oklahoma’s program, St. Isidore was excluded—because it is religious.
That’s a clear violation of the First Amendment’s protection for religious freedom, and it’s why we’re standing with the State Charter School Board at the U.S. Supreme Court. A victory here would be a blessing to so many families that desperately need more low-cost, high-quality educational options for their kids.
Government officials and policies continue to threaten the basic rights of people like:
- Kaley Chiles—this Christian counselor is challenging a Colorado law that would censor her private conversations with her minor clients about sexuality and gender.
- Liam Morrison—this young student was punished for wearing a t-shirt that said, “There are only two genders.”
- Mid Vermont Christian School—this faith-based school was banned from all sports sponsored by the state’s athletics association after it forfeited a girls’ basketball game because a new policy would have FORCED the team to compete against a team that had a male athlete on their roster.
Each year, we receive THOUSANDS of requests for legal assistance, and we never want to turn away a client because of a lack of resources. That’s why we need your help.
Will you take the next step right now and support critical cases with a special gift?
Thank you for your generosity!
